The Super 15 is the largest rugby union football club championship in the southern hemisphere, consisting of provincial teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The Reds and the Blues last met in Round 13 and the Reds beat the Blues 37-31 and overtook the Blues as leader of the Super Rugby Standings at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. This Super Rugby Semi-final gives the Blues a chance to redress their loss to the Reds which started a losing streak which almost cost them a place in the play offs.
